About us

Who is You have a Choice?
YHAC is a not for profit organisation run voluntarily by Natalie Mayhew

How did it all begin?
Natalie mentored students via a Young Enterprise project. Through this mentoring project the girls wanted to organise a play on gun and knife crime. The project got too big for the school and You Have A Choice was formed.

What does YHAC do?
Run workshops at youth events

Run 1/2 day "Welcome to Admin courses" for adults / students looking to work within this sector

Attend events to take photo's - if it is a youth/community event NO CHARGE!

Works closely with communities/organisations to advertise their events via our large database of contacts

Nominates people every month for their achievements - see positive person of the week page

Connects with young people via Facebook and Myspace

Works with YCF and Tooting Police to build bridges within the community. Ran first workshop on 7th February 2010 and now in talks for future youth projects

Supports three particular youth groups in London called NutmegYouth Against Crimes and Upshot

Who is Natalie Mayhew?

Natalie Mayhew is the Director and founder of You Have A Choice. She is a single mother from Surrey who works full time as a Personal Assistant in London. All work involving You Have A Choice is done voluntarily in her spare time. Natalie is also an amateur photographer and takes photos for many organisations and people including Femi Oyeniran, Jason Maza.
Natalie has mentored students in 1:1 and group programmes via
Young Enterprise

She felt there was a need to make sustainable links between adults/authorities with young people, a need to empower young people to build up their self esteem and to educate them on the opportunities available to them. So she ran her first anti gun and knife event at Arsenal FC in 2008 where just over 300 young people attended.
She also created the You Have A Choice website as a one stop shop for Youth and Community information

Funding
YHAC is not a charity so receives no Government funding for their events. Natalie spends a lot of her time sourcing funding opportunities available to her. She works closely with Housing Associations, Councils, Charities, Corporate companies, Media and Celebrities to help fund and promote her events.
If you would like to become a funder of a YHAC event, please contact Natalie on 07834 454801
